Engr. Bilgrami was appointed engineering consultant on an honorary basis in 2002 by Lloyds Educational Trust, to advise on technical, constructional, architectural and design matters. In 2015 the YMCA managing committee approved his appointment as the university's First Vice Chancellor (Honorary).
